The Chauchat-Ribeyrolles 1918 is a weapon based on the RSC 1917 semi-automatic rifle mechanism made by some of the same creators behind Chauchat: Chauchat, Sutter, Ribeyrolles, and the Gladiator factory (often abbreviated CSRG). It was presented in 1918 as a "pistolet-mitrailleur" (machine-pistol) for use as firing port weapon by the French tank crews. Going through several trials, the results were satisfactory but the weapon was too powerful for the intended self-protection use.[1]
Battlefield 1[]
— In-game description
The RSC SMG is a weapon introduced in the Battlefield 1: Apocalypse expansion for the Assault kit. It has a relatively small magazine, with a maximum of only 9 rounds. This is offset by the weapon's high damage and low fire rate. The recoil is fairly heavy, but this again is counteracted by the slow fire rate, which allows the weapon to settle a bit between each shot.
There are two variants of the RSC SMG: Factory and Optical.
Factory[]
The RSC SMG Factory is the standard version of the weapon.
Optical[]
The RSC SMG Optical is equipped with a lens sight, offering improved aimed accuracy.
