Rebels (Russian: Войска Мятежников) are a fictional faction in Battlefield 2: Special Forces. They seem to be based on Chechen rebels, similar to those who fought against Russia in the Chechen wars. The rebels use largely Russian-made weapons with very few exceptions.

Battlefield 2: Special Forces

In Battlefield 2: Special Forces, Rebels fight exclusively against the Spetsnaz.

Trivia

• They are the only faction with actual voiced lyrics in both their end of round victory and defeat theme.
• Their in-game files are listed as Chinsurgent. Anything with CH refers to China in the Battlefield 2 files, although the Rebels may be an exception.
• In the files of the official Battlefield 2 Editor, the Rebels are referred to as "RUS Insurgents", and object spawners for the Rebels have the string RI.
