The Rorsch Mk-4 is a weapon featured in Battlefield 2042, introduced in the Escalation season. Player can unlock the weapon by reaching tier 10 in the Battle Pass and by completing assignments afterwards. As the name implies, it is the successor of the Rorsch Mk-1 found in Final Stand expansion of Battlefield 4 and reference to the Rorsch Mk-S8 from Battlefield 2142.

The distinct features of this weapon is the extremely fast projectile velocity, making for a near hit-scan feeling. The weapon also requires the user to switch underbarrel to change firing modes, unlike other weapons that can swap firing modes on the go. No matter the fire mode, the amount of charge in each "magazine" will only allow 20 shots. In order to master the weapon, players will need to predict the charge time for each shot. The Railgun can be a very deadly weapon if one can predict the charge time of each shot.

The Rorsch Mk-4 lacks options for muzzle and underbarrel attachments, but players still have the ability to change their optics. The default NVK-NXT 2X is the only optic that shows the progress of charging time they need for firing. When using other sights, players will need to listen for the sound of the weapon to predict charge.
