The Type-56 is issued as an option for the Heavy Assault and Scout kits of the NVA and Viet Cong factions. It has a 10-round magazine, a relatively high firecap, high recoil and good damage. It can usually kill in 2-3 rounds to the body and extremities, or a single head shot. Its high recoil can make long-range shooting difficult, but prone reduces the recoil to a more controllable level. It has a fairly high rate of fire and is, therefore, effective at close ranges, although its small magazine capacity can be a hindrance to combat effectiveness, and its reload time is relatively long. Compared to its counterpart, the M14 rifle, it has a much higher firecap, but is at a disadvantage in accuracy.
Because Battlefield Vietnam features different loadouts for each faction, this list may not be specific enough. Please see each faction's respective page for information on individual weapon kits and loadouts.
