"The SPAS-12 is a combat shotgun adopted by civilian markets and police forces worldwide. The SPAS-12 is a semi-automatic weapon, meaning the pump is not operated between shots."

— In-game description

The SPAS-12 is a Shotgun featured in Battlefield Hardline.

Multiplayer[]

It is a purchasable Shotgun for the Criminals Enforcer. It is one of three semi-automatic shotgun available, the others being the Saiga 12 and the M4. It has a higher ammo capacity than the 870P Magnum or 37 Stakeout and the fastest fire rate in its weapon class, but has less rounds than the Saiga and KSG12 and struggles at range due to its heavy recoil and spread.

Trivia[]

  • The SPAS-12's firemode is listed as pump-action in the loadout menus and on Battlelog, but fires in semi-automatic mode in-game. When aiming with the SPAS-12, the player's character can be seen operating the pump, though it makes no sound and does not affect the rate of fire. The pump is also operated during the SPAS-12's empty reload. This could suggest that the SPAS-12 was originally meant to be pump-action like its Battlefield 4 counterpart, but may have been made semi-automatic later in development to differentiate it from the other shotguns available in the base game, which were all pump-action.
  • During the empty reload animation, the SPAS-12's breach does not actually open when the pump is brought back and the shotshell is inserted backwards.
