"Advanced marksman training gives the soldier’s rounds a greater Suppressive effect on his targets. "

— Battlelog description

SUPR is a specialization in Battlefield 3 that increases the effe

ct of Suppressive Fire on targeted players. It counters the COVR specialization. This perk is a good choice for the support class (whoose main job is to pin enemies in place, resupply the team move up and repeat) it noticably decreases the time from your first bullet to the time the enemy drops down and hides.

Tactics

This (squad variant) if used by a squad who is on a form of voice comms e.g. a clan, can potentialy, with cover, sprint and explosive vest specs respectively can storm most infantry squads very effectively, though against vehicle suppression could be swapped out.

With this perk as support you should favor defense over attack hanging back and pinning your foes, this will allow your team mates to flank and kill them allowing you to move up.

As Assault/Medic this perk will allow you to play a bit more aggresive if mixed with COVR you can rush most enemies taking minimal damage.

The solo specialization is awarded at rank 17, and the squad variant (SQD SUPR) is awarded at level 33.

Pro's and Con's

Pro's:

  • Solid anti infantry option; blunts most infantry charges.
  • Useful when rushing enemies in close quarters, as the blurred screen effect can cause other players to panic spray and thus, more often than not, miss their target: you.

Con's

  • Useless when engaging vehicles; instead, this perk should be swapped out for explosives or sprint if primarily fighting these.
  • Horrible choice for long range recon player, as this specialization makes your shots much more obvious.
