The Saiga 12K is a shotgun featured in Battlefield 4.
Singleplayer[]
The Saiga 12K is the standard shotgun of the RGF. It is equipped with a PKA-S, Flash Light and Modified Choke. It sports a Worm Autumn finish. It can be found off of one enemy just before the player heads down the elevator to blow up the dam in the Tashgar mission.
Multiplayer[]
The Saiga 12K is the fourth all-kit shotgun unlocked after the Hawk 12G, and is the third semi-auto shotgun unlocked.
The power of the Saiga 12K is not to be underestimated. As with other shotguns, it shreds in close quarters and can still be viable out to ~20m. In CQB, hitting all 9 pellets per shot is more than enough to down enemies, regardless of whether or not they're running the Defensive perk. In cases where the first shot doesn't outright kill the target, the fast semi-auto fire rate of 200RPM allows for quick follow up shots to finish off weakened enemies. The Saiga's spread is also the lowest of the shotguns, tied with the UTS-15. This makes landing a lethal number of pellets on target very easy in close quarters. Hipfire is also very adequate, and is tightened even further with a laser sight.
However, the intrinsic range dropoff and spread of all the shotguns relegates it to close-medium range. Regardless of it possessing a solid recoil pattern and minimal spread for shotguns, the random deviation of Buckshot and Flechette shells means that past CQB the Saiga will need upwards of three to four shots to kill, sometimes even more.
