Score in Battlefield 1942 (and its expansions) and Battlefield Vietnam work exactly the same. There are multiple actions that can give the player score, and the system is quite simple.

Battlefield 2142

Scoring in Battlefield 2142 is similar to Battlefield 2, as they use the same game engine. Points are now awarded for support actions, in support of the squad system, and for other examples of teamwork.

Players can earn two kinds of points: teamwork points for actions performed in a round, and global points for awards and bonuses. A special Away bonus is provided to players who have not played a round in some time. The scoreboard reflects only teamwork points, while global points are added to determine a player's ranking. Score can only be earned towards a player's ranking in special ranked servers that forbid mods and require the latest version of PunkBuster.

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat

In Battlefield 2: Modern Combat singleplayer, score is a very prominent feature. Players will gain points in the thousands very quickly by completing objectives, killing enemies and destroying enemy vehicles.

Battlefield Heroes & Battlefield Play4Free

In Battlefield Heroes and Battlefield Play4Free, score is awarded on a different basis to other games in the Battlefield series. Instead of a fixed number of points awarded for killing players completely, points are awarded for damaging opponents and contributing to capturing flags and objectives, as well as using gadgets and abilities to help teammates.

For example, if a player were to inflict 32 damage on an opposing player with one shot, then the player would gain 32 XP points. Points are also awarded for contributing to capturing flags (and the V2 rocket on Midnight Mayhem), but these can range from 3/4 points to 15/16 points, depending on the number of players at the flag.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Score is only present in the multiplayer segment of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Every point of score is tallied up to a total, and then used as experience points to level up through the multiplayer ranks, until they reach rank 50 (General of the Army), where it serves no true purpose other than gaining prestige. These values and relations are the same for the Vietnam expansion. Points are also present in the Onslaught DLC, though these are not used as multiplayer experience points and are tallied in their own separate leaderboards.

General Combat

  • Kill - Killing an enemy. (50)
  • Kill Assist - Inflict damage on an opposing player then have a teammate finish them. (10)
  • Squad Kill Assist - Inflict damage on an opposing player then have a squad member finish them. (20)
  • Critical Kill Assist - Inflict significant damage on an opponent, then have a teammate finish them off. (30)
  • Critical Squad Kill Assist - Inflict significant damage on an opponent, then have a squad member finish them off. (40)
  • Spot Assist - 'Spot' an enemy, then have a teammate kill them. (20)
  • Squad Spot Assist - 'Spot' an enemy, and then have a squad-mate kill them. (30)
  • Parachute Kill - Kill an enemy whilst parachuting. (30)
  • Headshot - Killing an enemy with a headshot. Bonus added to kill score. (10)
  • Marksman Headshot - Killing an enemy with a headshot at least 100m away. Bonus point for every additional meter. (30)
  • Double Kill - Killing two enemies at the same time and/or in rapid succession. Bonus points added to both kill scores. (30)
  • Triple Kill - Killing three enemies at the same time and/or in rapid succession. Bonus points added to all kill scores. (50)
  • Multi Kill - Killing at least four enemies at the same time and/or in rapid succession. Bonus points added to all kill scores. (100)
  • Avenger Kill - Kill a player who recently killed a teammate. (50)
  • Savior Kill - Kill a player who was inflicting damage on a teammate. (50)

Score in Battlefield Play4Free functions similarly to Battlefield: Bad Company 2. However, players will also get one point of score for every point of damage dealt to an enemy soldier or vehicle.

Battlefield 3

Score in Battlefield 3 functions similarly to Battlefield: Bad Company 2, although with some changes, additions and removals.

Multiplayer scoring system

  • ATTACK ORDER - 10 - Follow your squad leader's attack order.
  • ATTACK ORDER FOLLOWED - 20 - Have a squad mate follow the attack order.
  • AVENGER BONUS - 10 - Kill an enemy within three seconds of him killing a friendly.
  • COMEBACK - 10 - Come back from a streak of four or more consecutive deaths. Score equals the number of consecutive deaths × 10.
  • DEFEND ORDER - 10 - Follow your squad leader's defend order.
  • DEFEND ORDER FOLLOWED - 20 - Have a squad mate follow the defend order.
  • DESIGNATED TARGET HIT - 100 - Score is based on how much damage the locked missile does.
  • DESTROYED EXPLOSIVE - 20 - Destroy an enemy explosive (claymore, mine, or C4).
  • DOG TAG SAVIOR - 50 - Rescue a teammate just as he is about to be stabbed.
  • DOUBLE KILL - 40 - Kill two enemies within 0.8 seconds of each other.
  • DRIVER ASSIST - 10 - Have a passenger in your vehicle kill an enemy.
  • ENEMY DOWN - 100- Kill an enemy.
  • EQUIPMENT DESTROYED - 20 - Destroy a stationary weapon that is occupied by an enemy or equipment placed by an enemy. This includes EOD Bots, MAV, Mortar, Radio Beacon, SOFLAM and T-UGS.
  • FLAG CAPTURE ASSIST - 50 - Participate in a flag capture.
  • FLAG CAPTURED - 250 - Capture a flag.
  • FLAG DEFEND - 20 - Kill someone while you or the victim is in the radius of a flag owned by your team.
  • FLAG NEUTRALIZE ASSIST - 150 - Participate in a flag neutralize.
  • FLAG NEUTRALIZED - 200 - Neutralize an enemy flag.
  • HEADSHOT BONUS - 10 - Kill an enemy with a headshot.
  • HEAL 10 Heal points awarded for every 20% health healed on a friendly.
  • KILL ASSIST - 10–100 - Do at least 10 points of damage to an enemy and have a teammate finish them off. Note that this caps out at 100, as healing can restore the enemy's hit points.
  • KILLSTREAK STOPPED - 10 - Kill an enemy who has made six or more kills without dying. The score awarded equals the number of kills in the enemy's streak × 10.
  • MARKSMAN BONUS - 100+- Score a headshot with a sniper rifle. Score equals the distance to the target.
  • M-COM ARMED - 100 - Arm an M-COM station.
  • M-COM ATTACK KILL - 20 - Kill an enemy that is disarming the crate.
  • M-COM DEFENSE KILL - 20 - Kill an enemy that is arming the crate.
  • M-COM DESTROYED - 500 - Destroy an M-COM station.
  • M-COM DISARMED - 200 - Disarm an M-COM station.
  • MOTION SENSOR ASSIST - 20 - Enemy was killed while in your T-UGS's or MAV's motion sensor range.
  • MULTIPLE KILL - 100 - Kill four or more enemies within 0.8 seconds of each other.
  • NEMESIS KILL - 10 - Kill the same enemy six or more times. The score awarded equals the number of kills × 10.
  • NEMESIS PAYBACK - 10 - Kill your nemesis. The score awarded equals the number of times your nemesis has killed you × 10.
  • REPAIR - 10 - Repair vehicle points given for every 10% of damage repaired.
  • RESUPPLY - 10 - Resupply a teammate.
  • ROAD KILL - 10 - Run over an enemy.
  • SAVIOR BONUS - 20 - Kill an enemy within two seconds of him dealing 50% to 99% of damage to a friendly.
  • SPOT BONUS - 10 - Spot an enemy and have a teammate kill them.
  • SQUAD ATTACK ORDER - 20 - Attack an objective that the leader has designated.
  • SQUAD DEFEND ORDER - 20 - Defend an objective that the leader has designated.
  • SQUAD DRIVER ASSIST - 20 - Have a squad mate who is a passenger in your vehicle make a kill.
  • SQUAD ELIMINATED - 10 - Kill all members in a squad.
  • SQUAD HEAL - 30 - Heal a squad mate.
  • SQUAD PASSENGER ASSIST - 20 - Have a squad mate who is driving your vehicle make a kill.
  • SQUAD RESUPPLY - 20 - Resupply a squad mate.
  • SQUAD REVIVE - 110 - Revive a squad mate.
  • SQUAD SPAWN ON YOU - 10 - Have a squad mate spawn on you.
  • SUPPRESSION ASSIST - 50 - Suppress an enemy and have a teammate kill them.
  • TARGET DESIGNATED - 10 - Lock on to an enemy vehicle with the target designator.
  • TEAM PASSENGER ASSIST - 10 - Have the driver in your vehicle kill an enemy.
  • TEAM REVIVE - 100 - Revive a teammate.
  • TRIPLE KILL - 60 - Kill three enemies within 0.8 seconds of each other.
  • VEHICLE DESTROY - 50 - Destroy a vehicle within 10 seconds of an enemy leaving it.
  • VEHICLE DESTROY ASSIST - 10–100 - Do at least 10 points of damage to an enemy vehicle and have a teammate destroy it. Points awarded are based on how much damage was done.
  • VEHICLE DISABLED - 100 - Disable a vehicle.

Capture the flag

  • CAPTURE FLAG - 500 - Capture the enemy flag.
  • CAPTURE FLAG STREAK - 200 - Capture the flag more than once in a game.
  • PICK UP FLAG - 100 - Pick up the enemy flag after it has been dropped.
  • PICK UP ASSIST - 100 - Be within 10 meters of the flag when it is being picked up after being dropped.
  • FLAG CARRIER HEAL - 50 - Heal the flag carrier.
  • RETURN FLAG - 100 - Return your team's flag to your base.
  • FLAG TRANSPORT - 200 - Transport the flag carrier in your vehicle.
  • FLAG TRANSPORT STREAK - 100 - Transport the flag carrier in your vehicle multiple times in a round.
  • FLAG CARRIER SAVIOR - 50 - Kill an enemy that is attacking the flag carrier.
  • FLAG CARRIER SAVIOR SUPPRESSION - 50 - Suppress an enemy that is attacking the flag carrier.
  • FLAG CARRIER KILL - 100 - Kill the enemy flag carrier.
  • FLAG CARRIER KILL ASSIST - 50 - Assist in killing the enemy flag carrier.
  • FLAG CAPTURE ASSIST - 50 - Be within 10 meters of the flag when it is being captured.

Battlefield 4

Score in Battlefield 4 functions very similarly to Battlefield 3.

Basic Bonuses

  • Enemy Killed - Kill an enemy (100)
  • Multi-Kill - Kill two or more enemies in a few seconds (20)
  • Headshot Bonus - Kill an enemy with a shot to the head (25)
  • Marksman Bonus - Kill an enemy by shooting their head with a Sniper Rifle over a long distance (25)
  • Kill Assist - Damage an enemy and allow a teammate to kill them. Score earned depends on the damage inflicted (1-75)
  • Assist Counts as Kill - Greatly damage an enemy and allow a teammate to kill them. Your assist will count as a kill (76-99)
  • Comeback Bonus - Kill an enemy after a four death streak. Each death after four will add another 10 to the score (40+)
  • Killstreak Stopped - Kill an enemy after they reach a four killstreak. Each kill after four will add another 10 to the score (40+)
  • Avenger Bonus - Kill an enemy who recently killed your teammate (25)
  • Savior Bonus - Kill an enemy who is currently injuring or suppressing your teammate (25)
  • Squad Wiped - Kill the last surviving member of an enemy squad (50)
  • Payback - Kill the same enemy who previously killed you (50)
  • Suppression Assist - Suppress an enemy and allow a teammate to kill them (10)
  • Spot Bonus - Spot an enemy and have a teammate kill them (25)

Kit Bonuses

  • Explosive Destroyed - Destroy an enemy explosive gadget (20)
  • Equipment Destroyed - Destroy an enemy equipment gadget (25)
  • Healing - Heal a teammate with a Medic Bag or First Aid Pack. The more health that is healed, the higher the score (10)
  • Motion Sensor Assist - Use the Motion Sensors or T-UGS to mark an enemy on the mini-map, then have a teammate kill the marked enemy (20)
  • Repairing - Repair a friendly vehicle with the Repair Tool. The more the vehicle is repaired, the higher the score (10)
  • Revive - Revive a teammate with the Defibrillators. Charge the paddles to revive a player with more health and get more score (20-100)
  • Resupplying - Supply one magazine or grenade to a teammate with the Ammo Pack or Ammo Box (15)

Vehicle Bonuses

  • Driver Kill Assist - While driving a vehicle, have your passenger kill an enemy (25)
  • Driver Spawn Bonus - Have a teammate respawn on you while you are driving a vehicle (25)
  • Passenger Assist - While sitting as the passenger in a vehicle, have the driver or another passenger kill an enemy (25)
  • Roadkill - Kill an enemy by running them over with your vehicle (+10)
  • Vehicle Destroyed - Destroy a vehicle (100)
  • Vehicle Disabled - Deal enough damage to disable a vehicle (50)
  • Vehicle Driver Spawn - Have a teammate spawn on you while driving a vehicle (25)

Objective Bonuses

  • Bomb Possession - Given every 30 seconds to the team holding the bomb in Obliteration (10)
  • Capturing - Attempt to capture an objective (10)
  • Conquest Capture - Capture a flag on Conquest (400)
  • Conquest Control - Given every 30 seconds to the team with the most flags captured on Conquest. 10 Points are given per extra flag. If the team has four of five flags, they will earn 20 points.
  • Conquest Defense - Kill an enemy who is near your team's flag on Conquest (25)
  • Domination Capture - Capture a flag in Domination (25)
  • Domination Defense - Kill an enemy who is near your team's Domination flag (10)
  • Domination Lockdown - Given to the whole team every 30 seconds once all three Domination flags are held (100)
  • Flag Neutralized - Neutralize an enemy flag on Conquest (150)
  • M-COM Armed - Arm an M-COM Station with an explosive in Rush (200)
  • M-COM Destroyed - Plant an explosive on an M-COM Station in Rush and destroy it (400)
  • M-COM Disarmed - Disarm an explosive on an M-COM Station in Rush (400)
  • Using M-COM - Interact with an M-COM Station while planting or disarming on Rush. Given multiple times (10)

Squad Bonuses

  • Last Man Spawn - Have a squadmate respawn on your position while you are the last player alive in your squad (50)
  • Squad Avenger Bonus - Kill an enemy who recently killed your squadmate (50)
  • Squad Healing - Heal a squadmate with a Medic Bag or First Aid Pack (15)
  • Squad Order Bonus - Give an order to your squad as the Squad Leader. This bonus will be given every time a squadmater follows the order (50)
  • Squad Order Followed - Follow on order passed down from a Squad Leader (25)
  • Squad Repairing - Repair a squadmate's vehicle with the Repair Tool. The more the vehicle is repaired, the higher the score (15)
  • Squad Resupplying - Supply one magazine or grenade to a squadmate with the Ammo Pack or Ammo Box (15)
  • Squad Revive - Revive a squadmate with the Defibrillators (20)
  • Squad Savior Bonus - Kill an enemy who is currently injuring or suppressing your squadmate (50)
