The Serbu Super Shorty in real life. (Note the folded Foregrip).

The Serbu Super Shorty is a compact, stockless, pump-action shotgun chambered in 12-gauge. Most production models are based on the Mossberg Maverick 88 shotgun, though some are made from the Mossberg 500 and Remington 870 as well. The shotgun features a spring-loaded, folding foregrip.

As the weapon is originally manufactured without a shoulder stock, it is technically considered a smooth-bore handgun, and thus an AOW, rather than a short-barreled shotgun.

Battlefield 4

The Shorty 12G  is a weapon set to be featured in Battlefield 4 and was revealed in the "Fishing in Baku" Trailer. It appears attached with a red dot sight and includes an integral Foregrip.

It has a small capacity of 3 rounds, one in the chamber and two in the magazine. The shotgun has been confirmed in footage from Gamescom 2013 to occupy the sidearm slot as an alternative to a handgun.

Trivia

  • Both reloading animations are identical to that of the 870 MCS in Battlefield 3. This may just be a placeholder.
