Smoke Bombs are munitions designed to be dropped from aircraft to generate smoke. The applications of such a device include producing a smokescreen to block enemy line of sight or conceal friendly units, as well as to visually mark targets or locations.

Battlefield 1[]

Cut content
The subject of this article, Smoke Bomb, has been cut from the final version of a Battlefield game.

The Smoke Bomb was formerly available to pilots of the Ilya-Muromets Heavy Bomber equipped with the Support Bomber Package. This tertiary weapon produced a non-damaging cloud of smoke upon impact with the ground, similar in use to the Smoke Grenade. Due to its limited applications, the package loadout was revised with the Smoke Bomb being replaced in its role with the offensive Gas Bomb.

Battlefield V[]

Smoke Barrage is a Squad Reinforcement featured in Battlefield V. It was introduced in the second Tides of War chapter, Lightning Strikes on March 7, 2019. The reinforcement becomes available with 7,450 squad points. Upon marking a location with the Binoculars, a thick cloud of smoke will drop via aircraft.

Scripted Smoke Barrages accompany the attacking team in the initial assault wave during Fortress. Smoke shells will follow the progress of players, fall just ahead of them as they move up.
