— In-game description
The Su-57 Felon is a vehicle featured in Battlefield 2042 used by the Russia. Its counterpart is the United States F-35E Panther. Althought it lacks ability to VTOL (Vertical Take-off-and-Landing), it has better manoeuvrability compared the the Panther.
The vehicle comes with 25mm Cannon, AA-11 IR Missile and Missile Countermeasures by default with additional tools like Repair System, 30mm Cannon, Air-to-Ground Missile and AA-12 Radar Missile available to unlock.
The primary weapon is 25mm Cannon with the ability to change to 30mm Cannon with slower rate of fire, velocity and higher heat build up but with higher damage.
The secondary weapon consists of AA-11 IR Missile, a standard lock-on fire and forget missile. With an option to change to Air-to-Ground Missile for use against ground and/or laser designated target and AA-12 Radar Missile which simply fire and they will track other aircrafts themselves. The Helicopter and Jet anti-vehicle missiles have the same 800m range after UPDATE #6.2.0.[1]
Like the F-35E, when enemies are locked by IR missiles, they will receive obvious warning reminders and got time to use the countermeasures. However, IR missiles have a high level of damage and can usually cause enemy aircraft to lose more than half of their HP.
As a comparison, although Radar Missiles can be launched without locking, their damage is low that even a two shot salvo cannot destroy an enemy aircraft with full HP. On this basis, Radar Missiles has a higher reload time, can still be interfered by countermeasures, and the missile can only track correctly when the crosshairs are aligned or very close to the enemy aircraft. In other words, the 'lock' zone on screen is smaller.
The equipment including Missile Countermeasures to prevent enemy's lock-on missiles and the Repair System to replenishes the health and fixes damaged parts.

Trivia[]
- Until Update 3, the Repair System was accidentally omitted from the aircraft due to a bug resetting a loadout.
