WHY[]
Really? Why does this page even exist, we dont have any info at all.
I don't want to be rude but you need to do some research first before posting something like that okayDan67 15:12, March 29, 2012 (UTC)

I hope EA wont doom BF4, they really need to give DICE some time, to make it better and with less bugs.
you need to add that BF4 will be set in china also[]
if you look at the small orange picture next to the mans head in the BF4 art work you can see the shanghai world finance center and the Jin Mao tower aswell as the radio/tv building in shanghai with the circular compartments.
That information is still unconfirmed, even though it is strongly hinted that a Chinese faction / locations will be included. The page will be updated as soon as the info is confirmed. PLR Soldier 05:38, March 21, 2013 (UTC)
Speculation, Speculation, Specualtion![]
I have serious concerns regarding the amount of speculation here. We can use emperical evidence to say that certain vehicles will apear in the game, but in no universe can we say that the F-22 or F-35B will appear because it's logical. That is speculation, wiki articles are no place for specualtion or opinion. That belongs here, in the talk page.
So, stop speculating, it's not the place to do so. This is a wiki, not a forum. People are going to take this article as fact, and we need to stop speculation as far as evidence goes. If there's a picture of a gun, or vehicle, then we can mention it. But we can't say that because we've seen the J-20, the F-22 must be the US's jet.
No, just, no!
Thank you, Vaska00762 (talk) 18:52, March 26, 2013 (UTC)
- You know, speculation is disallowed according to our wiki's policies. Юра 19:41, March 26, 2013 (UTC)
It is in no where, part of the policy on http://www.wikia.com/Terms_of_Use that we must not speculate. Yes, it is not a fact, it is possible as was stated when the article was edited

Let it be known by all that truth is the one comodity here that is valued, not speculation.

I believe the Trivia section talking about how the characters are most likely Marines is wrong.[]
I disagree with the post on the Trivia section for Battlefield 4 about the characters being Force Recon Marines. 1) The Marines in BF3 were Force Recon Marines. 2) It is possible that the charater wearing "MARPAT" is actually wearing AOR1. (Which is not exlusively used by the US Navy Seals) 3) Staff Sergeant isn't a rank in the US Navy but is in the US Army,USMC, and US Airforce. So that is blantantly incorrect. 5) Just because there is a Venom does not make them part of the Navy. It is only the prologue mission and they are trying to leave that area, as said in the gameplay. It is quite possible that the US Navy was on stand-by and came to extract them. The Army has done the same things with Marines, especially if someone is wounded. You can look up loads of US Army Air Ambulances (UH-60 Black Hawks) assisting and evacing Marines in Afghanistan and many other areas. Thus, I do not believe this should be in the trivia section. Matthew1945 (talk) 19:34, March 28, 2013 (UTC)
I said that it is most likely that they are army, and that this would be the first main series BF to focus on the army in the SP. But a "contributer" removed that...

- That's a lie. Юра 00:43, March 29, 2013 (UTC)
I would agree with you on that one. Or they might be a Joint Task Force of US Soldiers and US Marines. (Special forces of course, not regular military.) I can see how my post especially around the part about the Venom sounds like I'm enraged. (lol) I'm not mad, but I do agree that the person who posted about them most likely being Marines is far from right. He does make a few good points but some of his info is just pure wrong. Matthew1945 (talk) 20:24, March 28, 2013 (UTC)
Well he went ahead and changed it. Also he said that you should "suck it". Of course that language has no right being there, and I edited that out. Vaska00762 (talk) 22:38, March 28, 2013 (UTC)
There are some theories we haven't looked at yet. SEALs are out of the question leaving the USMC and Army as candidates.
They could be paratroopers, both the Army and USMC have them, and they are elite in their own sence.
What about 101st Airborne Division of the USAF? They use infantry ranks, don't they?
As for the Venom? Cross-Department operations. The Fairchild Republic Thunderbolt II A10-A is operated by the USAF, yet they both support the Army and USMC. Same with the AC-130 Spooky and the C-130 Hercules, USAF operates them, but provides for either USMC, Army or Airborne.
Just saying... Vaska00762 (talk) 22:53, March 28, 2013 (UTC)
FYI, heads-up, w/e, until the game is out or somebody can actually definitely confirm all the little details (i.e, without using circumstantial evidence), all conjecture should simply be omitted. Юра 00:43, March 29, 2013 (UTC)

- Okay, lol. That is different. I have nothing against the Marines by the way. Anyway, I am currently watching the "GamerSpawn analysis of the gameplay and I'll link it but at the very beginning according to the video the M16 Recker is holding says "US Army" on it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ktd4Prrkw-Q So, the Army very well might be in the game. Matthew1945 (talk) 18:08, March 30, 2013 (UTC)
- I might like to mention, that after research, that SEALs are possible. Marines who have been selected and fully transferred to serve in the SEALs have special ranks. E.g. a staff sargent would recieve the the rank "Staff Sargent Acting Chief Petty Officer". The acting bit means that they still keep their Marine rank, but recieve a Naval rank too. This system is used in both the US and UK armed forces.Vaska00762 (talk) 21:18, March 30, 2013 (UTC)
- So these guys are likely Army Special Forces (Green Berets) or Marine MARSOC. My argument for MARSOC is mainly at the beginning they identity someone by Staff SGT, in the Army you identify a majority of NCOs by SGT. Only the Marines really use the whole rank, BUT not a lot is known about MARSOC other than the fact they have been kicked out of Afghanistan a couple times... These cant be just normal Marines or Marine Recon because 1) they are all wearing different uniforms just because your Recon that does not give you authorization to wear whatever the fuck you want. 2) your average Marine nor does Marine recon have that equipment. 3) Marine Recon doesnt run with a 4 man team... I do believe the Marines are in the game and will play a major roll, but these main characters are most likely Army Special Forces. Also they cant be Airborne, like i said they would all have the same uniform on. Only the US Army has Airborne, Marines have Airborne qualified personnel in MARSOC or Marine Recon, but do not have a whole division dedicated to them. Then again DICE could just be plain wrong and have just your ordinary Marine playing a RAMBO role, like they did in Battlefield 3.
Beta[]
Sould we add a section about the beta? people will come here looking for info? http://bf4central.com that website is really good as it seems to be very consitant with the info, should be add content to the page when new info come out on that site?

BF4 set in 2020[]
Wasn't that info from the Chiphell forums confirmed to be a fake some time ago? I can't remember where, but I know I've read about that. If so, it would be better to remove that info before even more people start taking it for a fact, there are a ton in the forums already saying that.

DLCs[]
Make sure you add in the China Rising description and that China Rising was the first DLC for BF4 to have artwork for the DLC.
Weapons, Vehicles, and maybe Overkill?[]
In the China Rising DLC cover art, you see the soldier running with an M39 on his back and what looks like an M16. Speculation says it may be possible to use two Primary Weapons on a class or at least pick up an individual gun instead of an entire kit. Also, the aircraft flying above the soldier are a type of Chinese Bomber Jet, actual model unknown at this time.

New leaked info (not confirmed)[]
Although all of this information will most likely be known by E3, I wanted to share it here. New, thought to be legit although not confirmed alpha screenshots have been leaked and there is some new information within them. Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1GKWLxtLHk
Dont link any of it or post pictures on Wiki because if EA/DICE didnt leak it then its probably illegal. -- awyman13 {Talk} {Work} 03:30, June 10, 2013 (UTC)
- Correction, it's illegal if an exception has not been made for the uploader. Even if a DICE employee released screens on his twitter, we wouldn't be allowed to use those unless EA has specifically said so -- because in almost all cases the uploaders are under an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) which is a legally-binding contract. Contra, we are allowed to upload stuff from official releases (like E3) because an exception was made for them. ЮраGott erhalte Franz den Kaiser!!

32 Players on Current-Gen Consoles[]
Under Miscellaneous in the Multiplayer section of the article, it was said that the current-generation consoles (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3) will be able to support 32 players in online matches. Where did this claim come from, if at all? 99.138.92.222 19:05, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

Those were written by editors on their respective websites, but multiple personnel from DICE have confirmed it is 24 players on 360/PS3, at 30 frames per second, in multiple interviews, written and filmed. DICE/EA above all other sources. You can even tweet them and they'll give you a solid answer regarding this. PLR SoldierTalk 06:02, June 20, 2013 (UTC)

Trailer Content[]
The P226 was seen in the Premium trailer, in the part showing Op Metro, and the UTS-15 was seen in the Levolution trailer with a night vision sight. Also, that "M14A3" in the older Battlelog trailer was likely a typo. Alex T Snow (talk) 06:37, August 21, 2013 (UTC)
The ammo bug that is called intentional[]
Can we please work on making a note somewhere that states the nature of the ammunition bug present in the beta?
(Yes, it's a bug. Go reload a shotgun. Every 1 shell you reload, it removes 5 or 6 from your ammo count.)
If it only dropped the equivalent of full magazines from everything except shotguns, it would be a hyper-realism mechanic. At which point I wouldn't be posting this. UberDarkGuardian (talk) 22:32, November 1, 2013 (UTC)

Requesting removal or down-grade of page protection[]
This page was sysop protected on 3 Jan 2014 for recent vandalism and states that editors can request change on talk page.
I'm requesting that the protection be down-graded to block new and unregistered users, or protection is removed all-together. The page has been protected for more than a sufficient amount of time and no-one but admins have access to improve the page.
Thanks for your consideration.

Nicknames of primary characters[]
Under the subheading "Setting" it details the ranks and full names of each of the members of Tombstone but leaves out the nicknames of 'Pac' and 'Irish'. This is a problem as the entire plot section refers to them as Pac and Irish, at no point is it made clear which nickname refers to each soldier.
Can the nicknames be added to the description of each character, eg. "SSgt. Kimble "Irish" Graves, and field medic Sgt. Clayton "Pac" Pakowski"; "SSgt. Kimble Graves, affectionately nicknamed Irish, and field medic Sgt. Clayton Pakowski, usually called 'Pac' within the game" or similar. While one can determine which is which based on the abbreviation of Pac it should be clearer to allow people unfamiliar with single player (this includes a number of BF4 players I know, two people I know have never even opened single player) to more easily keep track of who is who.
Also, I would have thought that 'Pac' would be spelled 'Pak' if it is an abbreviation of his name- I did not play with subtitles on so I'm not sure how the game spelled it- does the article match the spelling from the game?Stefanzi (talk) 01:04, September 8, 2015 (UTC)
- The game refers them to their nicknames numerous times throughout the campaign. Also we already have their nicknames in the descriptions on the character pages, as seen on Pac and Irish. And yes it is spelled "Pac" not Pak. -- awyman13 (Talk/Work) 02:26, September 8, 2015 (UTC)
- Still, for people who have never actually opened up the campaign it should be mentioned in the summary for some clarity. I'll make a quick edit, thanks for bringing this up Stefanzi! - Apprentice125(Talk)05:49, September 8, 2015 (UTC)
