Thomas Wyatt is the playable character during the opening mission, Operation Aurora, in the singleplayer campaign of Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Biography

Thomas Wyatt was a US Marine who fought in the Pacific Theater of World War II. He was sent on a top secret mission, codenamed Operation Aurora, to investigate a possible WMD threat being designed by the Japanese and extract a defecting scientist working on the weapon. After initially succeeding in his mission alongside his squad, the WMD was set off as they escaped from the island in a submarine. This resulted in killing everyone on board the vessel, including Wyatt.

Apparently, the United States government actually knew about the WMD and had sent Wyatt and his group on a suicide mission to see the effects of the weapon. This later resulted in his son, Agent Aguire, to seek for revenge against the United States.

Trivia

  • Wyatt is the first of four playable characters in the Battlefield series who is scripted to die, the others being Jonathan Miller in Battlefield 3, Dimitri Mayakovsky from Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, and Frederick Bishop in Battlefield 1.
  • Wyatt can be identified in the final cut-scene of the level Operation Aurora on the submarine. He is the one on the far right holding either a Type 100 SMG or Type 5 rifle. He can also be seen on the beach landing scene as the one looking around nervously. The basic way to identify Wyatt is that he does not speak in the cutscenes, he has a nearly shaven head and also resembles Aguire.
