— In-game description
The Tripwire Bomb is a Scout gadget appearing in Battlefield 1. It was first seen during the "EA Play" event on June 12, 2016.
It consists of an 76mm Minenwerfer shell with a single tripwire extending about a meter in one direction. The shell is placed upright at the bearer's feet, and a tripwire deploys forward. The tripwire is reminiscent of those used by the M18 Claymore in Battlefield 4, but only a single wire is instantly deployed, and damage is dealt in all directions from the shell.
When a bomb is attached to a movable object—say, a door or a car—the bomb will detonate if the object is moved.
While the Tripwire Bomb does little to no damage to vehicles, it can severely injure exposed occupants. However, the incendiary bomb is fair for anti-vehicle support as well.
The player can choose between three variants:
- High Explosive (gray shell)
- Gas (green shell)
- Incendiary (red shell)
