It has been revealed that a Ballistic Shield will be introduced to the Battlefield Series in the Dragon's Teeth expansion.
In fact, DICE had originally planned to allow players to use the shield in conjunction of handguns but because of a lack of space on last-gen consoles, they ultimately made it a two handed ballistic shield. While you wont be able to shoot your enemies with the shield equipped, you can at least knife anyone who dares to approach you.
Dragon's Teeth will release later this year and Will focus on Urban Warfare. -- awyman13
